Ce livre est un projet personnel réalisé en février 2018. Pensé comme un hommage à un jeu que j’adore, l’ouvrage Lucis Caelum consiste en un livre photo dont chacun des plans a été soigneusement sélectionné durant les derniers instants de l’oeuvre vidéo-ludique dont il est tiré. Forte en émotion, cette séquence opère une transition importante dans la narration et se ressent dans le choix des couleurs et de la luminosité.
Pour parvenir à ce résultat, j’ai pris soin de retoucher les photos et d’élaborer une couverture en reprenant l’identité visuelle établie par l’éditeur Square Enix.

This book is a personal project completed in February 2018. Designed as a tribute to a game I love, Lucis Caelum is a photo book from which each shot has been carefully selected during the last moments of the video game work from which it is taken. Strong in emotion, this sequence makes an important transition in the narrative and is felt in the choice of colors and brightness.
To achieve this result, I took care to retouch the photos and create a cover using the visual identity established by the publisher Square Enix.
Le titre de cet album photo, Lucis Caelum, provient du nom de famille du protagoniste, issu d’une dynastie de roi dont le rôle est primordial dans l’histoire. S’agissant d’un hommage assumé, il me semblait naturel de lui attribuer un sobriquet qui soit à la hauteur de la destinée de son porteur originel. En découle donc un ouvrage sombre dont le caractère pesant transparaît au fil des pages, jusqu’à une apothéose lumineuse. La nuit laisse peu à peu la place au crépuscule dans une transition parfaitement menée.
The title of this photo album, Lucis Caelum, comes from the family name of the protagonist, from a king’s dynasty whose role is essential in the story. As this is an assumed tribute, it seemed natural to me to give it a nickname that reflects the destiny of its original bearer. The result is a dark work whose heavy character can be seen throughout the pages, up to a luminous apotheosis. The night gradually gives way to dusk in a perfectly managed transition.
