Ce projet personnel fictif débuta initialement par ma volonté de réaliser une illustration alternative pour la jaquette de l’un de mes jeux vidéo favoris : The Last Guardian.

J’avais alors en tête de proposer quelque chose qui tranche clairement avec le propos sombre de l’oeuvre, qui fait la part belle aux couleurs sombres et ternes d’une cité ancestrale abandonnée. En bon fan des couleurs que je suis, j’ai naturellement choisi des teintes gaies et voyantes, comme pour tromper le joueur sur ce qui l’attend au cours de cette aventure humaine.

Après avoir finalisé l’illustration, j’ai eu l’idée de faire évoluer cette simple illustration en projet de packaging. Un boitier de jeu PlayStation 4, un livre ainsi qu’une installation PLV ont été pensés afin d’ajouter de l’épaisseur à l’ensemble.

This fictional personal project started initially with my desire to create an alternative illustration for the cover of one of my favorite video games: The Last Guardian.

I had in mind then to propose something that clearly contrasts with the dark subject of the work, which shows dark and dull colours of an abandoned ancestral city. As a fan of the colours, I naturally chose cheerful and striking hues, as if to deceive the player about what awaits him during this human adventure.

After finalizing the illustration, I had the idea to develop this simple illustration into a packaging project. A PlayStation 4 game box, a book and an in-store-installation have been designed to add thickness to the whole project.
